Lady Lever Art Gallery

Take a trip to Port Sunlight village and discover the Lady Lever Art Gallery, a hidden gem that is the perfect place to introduce your little artists to art.

Free trails, colouring activities and costumes will help you explore the treasures of the gallery Lord Leverhulme founded in memory of his first wife.

Famous for its Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite paintings and Wedgwood pottery the Lady Lever has a great programme of family friendly activities the whole year round. Check out our website for the latest news: www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk

Our shop has a great range of pocket-money priced souvenirs and our café, equipped with highchairs, offers children’s lunchboxes - the perfect way to refuel before setting out to explore the rest of the pretty village.

At the roundabout take the third exit (Bolton Road). Take the right hand turn after the Bridge Inn. Continue along Church Drive passing the church and then the school on your right. Turn left into Windy Bank where you will see the gallery in front of you.

From elsewhere: Leave the M53 at junction 4 and follow the brown and white road signs for Port Sunlight Village. Once you are in the village follow the signs for Lady Lever Art Gallery.

By train:
The nearest train station is Bebington although Port Sunlight is also within walking distance. They are both on the Chester and Ellesmere Port Merseyrail lines. Leave the station and come out onto Old Chester Road (use the ramp if you require level access). Turn left, cross at the traffic lights, then turn left again down Bebington Road, passing under the railway bridge. Turn next right down Greendale Road. Continue along the pavement on the same side as the cottages for approximately 400 yards until you see the Leverhulme memorial and the Lady Lever Art Gallery on your left. Take the pathway on your left leading into Windy Bank and towards the memorial and the gallery. The entrance to the gallery is to the right side of the building opposite the fountain.

By bus:
Take number 464 to Bebington Road bus stop (starts at Sir Thomas Street in Liverpool city centre) or number 38 to Bebington rail station bus stop (runs between Clatterbridge Hospital and West Kirby station). Once you get off the bus refer to the above directions from Bebington railway station.
